Immanuel Lutheran School (ILS) takes great care with how personal information is used and shared. This notice describes our privacy policy. ILS may, from time to time, modify this privacy policy to reflect legal, technological and other developments.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

ILS complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). COPPA requires that commercial website operators never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting verifiable parental consent. In accordance with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. We recommend that no one under the age of 18 submit personally identifiable information to our Site. In the event that we determine that a user of this Site is under the age of 13, we will not maintain or use his or her personally identifiable information (PII).

Collecting Personal Information

ILS may ask community members for information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you. In addition, contracted third-parties which provide important services to the school, such as tuition information and payment processing, financial aid processing, and help with other school-related activities may be given necessary information by ILS for such limited purposes. Generally, this information may include the following: enrolling or applying a child to ILS; event registration; subscribing to ILS communications; completing an online survey; joining a limited-access portion of our site; viewing or changing personal resource information or that of a student; applying for financial aid; reviewing academic grades; enrolling in tuition payment system; and requesting transcripts or other student record information. If you are already affiliated with ILS as an alumnus, or as a parent, friend, or Immanuel Lutheran Church member, we have may have contact information for you on file. If you elect to join our community by making a gift, registering as a user or opting-in to communications, we may ask for some personal information. When you provide your personal information, a profile is created. ILS is not responsible for the privacy policies, practices, or content of third parties we may contract with.

Use of Personal Information

We may use your personal information for five primary purposes:

  • To make the site easier for you to use by not making you enter your personal information more than once.    
  • To help you quickly find information regarding ILS, its alumni and parents, and other services we provide.        
  • To help us create and deliver content most relevant to you.  
  • To alert you to events, volunteer opportunities, updated information and other news. related to ILS.  
  • For academic and financial purposes.

Immanuel Lutheran School will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ILS;
  • protect and defend the rights or property of ILS; and
  • act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of ILS students, visitors, or the public.

Control of Personal Information

When you register, or otherwise give us personal information, ILS will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than for the kinds of contracted purposes and exceptions previously listed. ILS may also send periodic emails informing you of changes and updates.

Faculty, Student, and Alumni Directories

Information accessible through any online directory or otherwise may be used only for official ILS purposes, and also for individual communication of a personal nature between community members. Users are strictly prohibited from using any information from ILS for commercial, public, or political purposes of any nature whatsoever, or for any illegal activities. ILS reserves the right to prohibit a user from further website access if it determines a user has violated the Terms of Use.

The information provided on this website is provided "AS IS", with no guarantee of completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or of the results obtained from the use of this information, and without warranty of any kind, express or implied. By using this website you agree that under no circumstances will ILS, agents, or employees thereof be liable to you or anyone else for (1) any information contained in or omitted from this website; (2) any person's reliance on such information whether or not the information is correct, current or complete; (3) any decision made or action taken in reliance on the information in this website or for any consequential, special, or similar damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
