Our mission at Immanuel Lutheran School is to nurture minds, hearts, and bodies of students. Our annual Field Day events are a perfect example of the third part of this trio, as students have been working in their P.E. classes throughout the year to prepare for the fun competitions during Field Day.
Led by Mr. Schultz in the Upper School, and Coach Sparks in the Lower School, students were ready on June 3rd for a fun-filled day with some friendly, but still intense competition in a wide variety of events.
Upper School students (plus 3rd graders) competed in their House teams in the:
- Distance Throw
- Running Long Jump
- 3-Legged Race
- Egg Toss
- Short Race (50 yards)
- Long Race (220 yards)
- Relay
- Sack Race
- Punt/Pass/Kick Competition
- Sponge Race
- Relay (dizzy bat, crab walk, egg carry, sack)
- Tug-of-War
Congratulations to all our competitors and especially to Athanasius on winning the overall Field Day competition! The results for each competition are available here.
Coach Sparks also arranged a great variety of competitions for our Lower School students, including running races, relays, bean bag tosses, bean bag balancing relays, football tosses, and many others.
Thank you to all the parents who came to help out and to cheer on all our competitors during this year's Field Day! We greatly appreciated all the help and support, and hope you had as much fun as our students and teachers did!
