The Immanuel Lutheran School community celebrated and studied together during it's first Constitution Day Observance on Friday, September 17th.
Parents and grandparents were invited to participate in class activities in all grades, Jr. Kindergarten through 8th grades. Students enjoyed guest readers sharing books about the Constitution, learning through a game of Constitution Bingo, dressing up as judges, hearing about work related to the Constitution, and engaging with parent visitors as they shared experiences and knowledge. Students also received pocket copies of the U.S. Constitution.
"As we work alongside families in the important endeavor of shaping young men and young women who are wise and virtuous, encouraging the study and understanding our United States Constitution is critical," shared Ms. Julia Habrecht, ILS Headmaster. "We are pleased to incorporate Constitution Day as a new ILS tradition and one that we hope will continue to develop and grow and be one way in which we celebrate our heritage as Americans and equip students to understand and defend our Constitution."
