Meet Us Monday: Miss Abby Leithart, Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

As we begin the new 2020-2021 school year, we have re-launched our Meet Us Monday Blog series to introduce you to our outstanding ILS teachers and staff. Check in each week to meet or better get to know one of our new or returning faculty members.

Today, we invite you go get to know ILS Kindergarten Assistant Teacher, Miss Abby Leithart, with her recent “Meet Us Monday” interview.

A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for three years, this is Miss Leithart’s first year teaching at ILS.

Miss Leithart

  1. What is your favorite thing about ILS? (OR: What are you most looking forward to about working at ILS?)  

    I love all of the staff and families, and I am looking forward to the endless amounts of jingles and poems I will learn from Mrs. Egger.

  2. What book are you currently reading?

    I am currently reading “The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating,” by Elisabeth Tova Bailey.

  3. What was your favorite thing you did this summer?

    It is a long list, but a few include going on family vacation, reading in parks, and many bike rides throughout Virginia/DC.

  4. What is one place you would like to visit but have not yet been?

    Either Italy or New Zealand.

  5. What was your favorite subject/class when you were in school?

    English and art class.

  6. What was your favorite book as a child?

    As a child, loved Amelia Bedelia. AsI got a little older, I read “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe” over and over again.

  7. What is your favorite scripture verse?

    Ephesians 6:13-17.
    ”Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
