Meet Us Monday: Pastor Noah Rogness, Associate Pastor

We are continuing our Meet Us Monday Blog series to introduce you to our outstanding ILS teachers and staff. Check in each week to meet or better get to know one of our new or returning faculty members.

Today, we invite you go get to know Immanuel’s Associate Pastor, Pastor Noah Rogness, with his recent “Meet Us Monday” interview.

Pastor Rogness and his family have been back as a part of the Immanuel community for the past two years due to Pastor’s military service, and he was recently installed as the new associate pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church on September 12th, 2020. His roles at Immanuel Lutheran Church are split between the church and school. He serves the congregation as their associate pastor, and he also teaches theology to our 4th and 7th grade students.

Pastor Rogness

  1. What is your favorite thing about ILS?

One of my favorite things about Immanuel Lutheran School is how our community is formed in the image of Christ.

  2. What book are you currently reading?

Bedtime reading with my children normally involves a chapter or two from the “Boxcar Children” series by Gertrude Chandler Warner. Another book I’m reading is “Law, Life, and the Living God” by Scott Murray; the book is a review of the third use of the Law in American Lutheranism. The last book I’m reading is the “Ghosts of Alexandria,” by Michael Pope in preparation for a youth group event at Immanuel where we discuss the belief of ghosts from a Christian perspective.

  3. What was your favorite thing you did this summer?

Like so many of you, my family did not experience a normal summer. However, my wife and I welcomed our fourth child, Gabriel, at the end of July and I can safely say that was my favorite day of the summer! Gabriel joined big siblings Lydia (1st grade), Samson (JK) and Jonah (age 2).

  4. What is one place you would like to visit but have not yet been?

Pastor Esget has recommended a trip to the Holy Land and I would like to think every pastor should want to make this trip.

  5. What was your favorite subject/class when you were in school?

I have to admit, I loved physical education class above all others. While we often think of physical education class as a time of playing games, I learned a lot regarding discipline and physical fitness, which paid off in preparing me for a twenty-one year career in the Army Reserve.

  6. What was your favorite book as a child?

Little Critter - Critter often gets into some sort of trouble, but he is an endearing character whose imagination and intrigue remind me of my inquisitive children.

  7. What is your favorite scripture verse?

“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelation 2:10b)
