This summer, we're running our "Meet Us Monday" series on our ILS blog featuring the newly elected ILS PTL officers for the 2018-2019 school year. These parents are looking forward to working with our school community during the upcoming year, and we are deeply grateful for their willingness to serve.
We hope you are able to attend the upcoming Los Tios Night on July 24th and a back-to-school picnic in August on Supply Drop-off Day, both generously hosted by the PTL! Please watch your emails for additional information on these, and other upcoming events.
The Parent Teacher League (PTL) supports classical Lutheran education at ILS and helps to provide opportunities for parents to engage in the life of the school. Through a variety of events and activities throughout the year, the PTL helps to strengthen our sense of community as a school.
This week, please meet Mr. Andray McCuien, who will be serving as PTL President. Mr. McCuien previously served as the PTL Vice President.
1. What grades are your children in at ILS?
My son Caden will be in the 3rd grade.
2. How many years has your family been at ILS?
We have been at ILS for three years.
3. What is the last book you read? (Or... What book are you currently reading?)
The Entrepreneurial Mind, by Kevin Johnson.
4. What are you looking forward to this summer?
Quality time with my family.
5. What are you most looking forward to next school year?
I'm looking forward to the continuous process of watching my son grow and mature from a third grader into a fourth grader.
6. What is your favorite thing about ILS?
I love the classical education model, the camaraderie among the families, the religious and moral foundation, and the application of the "takes a village to raise a child" mentality - ILS is a small family. Oh yeah, and Oktoberfest - what Dad doesn't love Oktoberfest?
7. What is one fun thing other ILS families may not know about you?
I can drive anything with wheels, especially my 5th wheel RV. Also, I can officially say that I have driven from coast to coast in one trip. I have a dream of going to all 50 states; so far I've been to 38 -- 12 to go!
