We're bringing back our "Meet Us Monday" series over the summer to introduce you to our new ILS PTL officers for the 2018-2019 school year!
The Parent Teacher League (PTL) supports classical Lutheran education at ILS and helps to provide opportunities for parents to engage in the life of the school. Through a variety of events and activities throughout the year, the PTL helps to strengthen our sense of community as a school.
We thank each of these parents for their willingness to serve in this capacity and for taking the time to share a bit more about themselves! Please watch for additional communications from the PTL over the summer about some upcoming events, including Los Tios Night and a back-to-school picnic!
This week, please meet Mrs. Cathy Cook, who will be joining the PTL for her first term, serving as Treasurer!
1. What grades are your children in at ILS?
Jonah is a rising 8th grader, and Sammy is a rising Jr. Kindergartener - the bookends of the school.
2. How many years has your family been at ILS?
Jonah has been here since 3rd grade, so we are entering our sixth year.
3. What is the last book you read? (Or... What book are you currently reading?)
I am rereading “Little Women”, which is just a little diversion as I work my way through Winston Graham’s Poldark series.
4. What are you looking forward to this summer?
I’m looking forward to a week in Chincoteague, VA - beach time, ponies, relaxation, lots of seafood, and some of the best ever ice cream!
5. What are you most looking forward to next school year?
I’m really looking forward to having both of my boys at the same school for what will likely be the only time in their academic lives!
6. What is your favorite thing about ILS?
I love that the teachers all have a true love for the students and their development as Christians as well as for teaching.
7. What is one fun thing other ILS families may not know about you?
I work occasionally as an Old Town tour guide for school groups.
