As we begin the 2021-2022 school year, we are continuing our Meet Us Monday Blog series to include some familiar faces who have taken on new roles within the community in the past couple of years. We are so blessed to have these former classroom teachers continuing to serve students and families in new positions within the Immanuel community. Check in each week to re- meet one of the wonderful members of our team.
Today, we are introducing you to Mrs. Marie Greenway. After serving as our Music Teacher for 4 years, Mrs. Greenway is returning this year to serve as our Music Lesson Coordinator.
How many years have you been at ILS?
This is the start of my 5th year at Immanuel.
What was your previous role at ILS? What is your current position at ILS?
I was previously the full-time classroom music teacher at the school. This year, I am the Music Lesson Coordinator, meaning I am in charge of setting up and organizing after school music lessons.

What is your favorite scripture verse?
My favorite is this promise of salvation found in Isaiah 55:1-2
“Come, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food."What is your favorite hymn?
LSB 683: "Jesus, Thy Boundless Love to Me"
What is your favorite season of the church year?
I love both the Easter season and the celebrations surrounding All Saints' Day and the end of the Church Year immediately prior to Advent.
What is one fun thing our ILS families may not know about you?
I have attended five different Lutheran schools (as a student) in my life - I love Lutheran education!
